Balenciaga fall/winter 2009 Ad Campaign

The first preview shot of Balenciaga 's ad campaign for the fall 2009 collection has been released. Featuring Nicolas Ghesquière's muse , actress Jennifer Connelly, which happens to be the house's campaign model for the second time. Previously it was the ad campaign for the Summer 2008 collection. Shot by Steven Meisel, Connelly is seen on a couch, over a deep forest green fabric. This campaign is a bit more lively as any of the recent Balenciaga print campaigns. They tend to have a much more colder perspective. This one is full of warmness, shadows, and movement. Can't wait to see the rest of the campaign!

Gucci fall/winter 2009 Ad Campaign

The first small set of photos previewing the campaign for Gucci's fall 2009 collection have been released! Styled by French Vogue's Emmanuelle Alt, the campaign features top models Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann, and Myf Shepherd photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Also mentioned as part of the campaign are Jacquetta Wheeler, Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Dree Hemingway, and Jamie Bochert; but there is no sign of them yet.
I love this campaign, as this collection was one of my favorites for fall. I totally love Gucci!
Poly looks simply divine, and is oozing androgyny.

Wang Xiao will star in an editorial for the August issue of Harper's Bazaar Singapore. Photographed by Gan and styled by Kenneth Goh, the twenty-nine year old is seen in some of the latest fall collections' most foxiest dresses and not to mention the fierce footwear that's seen as well. The shot with the over-the-knee Louis Vuitton F/W 09 boots looks magnificent!

Fendi fall/winter 2009 Ad Campaign

Canadian supermodel, Jessica Stam surprisingly is the new face of Fendi, being featured in the new fall/winter 2009 ad campaign for the collection, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. I'm liking this campaign over the last Fendi ads, it's way more attractive, not necessarily super interesting, BUT quite pretty - the model helps as well. The foggy overcast scenery is lovely, and the make-up looks to die for!

Animal loving Stella McCartney's Bambi inspired campaign for the fall '09 collection is soooooooo adorable!
Quite innovative as well! I love love love it! Featuring model Sigrid Agren, the ad is shot by Ryan McGinley.
What's interesting as well is the contrast, the clothing with the innocence of the Disney character and his forest friends.
The collection wasn't your most fluffiest, it was quite tough, not particularly aggressive, but definitely tough.
This is what Stella had to say about her the campaign for her fresh fall collection:

“I’m a huge Bambi fan, and the film reminds me of my mum, And we wanted to have some fun. The clothes in the campaign are looking quite fierce, and we wanted to contrast them with the innocence of Bambi,”

Russian supermodel Anna Selezneva graces the cover of this month's issue of Vogue China, the usually quite edgy model is looking quite softer and vulnerable then what we're used to seeing. Anna compared to some of her modeling peers hasn't been modeling for a long period of time. But has already in this short period accomplished a lot of what many models don't during their whole career. She's has an impressive history of runway bookings, expensive campaigns and has been on nearly every major Vogue there is. She at #11 on model.com's top 50 model ranking.

The campaign for the Phi fall 2009 collection features three brilliant Russian supermodels, the expensive cast includes; the magnificent Natasha Poly, the intriguing Sasha Pivovarova, and the delightful Anna Selezneva. Photographed by Steven Meisel and styled by Marie Amelie Sauve, the campaign could have been better. The hair if it were in a sleeker and more collection fashion, I think the results would of been better. But it is not that bad. The collection was spectacular, you can tell just be looking at the campaign. The blacks, the furs, the leathers - all to die for!

Styled by Marie-Amelie Sauve and photographed by Mikael Jansson, the campaign features models Kasia Struss, Karlie Kloss, and Sigrid Agren.
The campaign is simply beautiful, one of my favorites for the season so far.
The models are seen prancing on a golden open field.

Valentino Haute Couture fall/winter 2009

So happy with this Valetino collection, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli , which happen to be the house's former accessories designers are definitely taking Valentino in a totally new direction. Their past Haute Couture collection debut was quite stiff, and seemed to be just another renaissance of the house's past, nothing very innovative about it.
But for this collection of fall Couture, we saw a much bolder youthfulness, which really was part of what the founder wanted to get into with Valentino .
With what Piccoli called, A story of shadows, the collection featured leggy dresses and miniskirts
which came with ruffles, lace, in shades of blacks. Nude was also heavily seen, and looked amazing when paired with a few black numbers.
The headpieces with extravagant organza e volume some models wore were amazing.
I really love the new grounds Valentino is headed towards.
Although I must admit, it is quite awkward seeing a Valentino collection without a single hint of red.

Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture fall/winter 2009

The black-and-white movie heroines inspired Giorgio Armani Privé collection this Haute Couture season was one of Armani's best collections for couture yet, it not the best.
The collection was the epitome of high class and sophistication. The show started with pantsuits, large buttons and decorated utility zippers were seen on the waist of jackets, cuffs, collars, and the middle of a skirt. Intricate detailing was proved with a vast number of beads, crystals, sequins, paillettes. The nude crystal-encrusted jumpsuits towards the finale were definitely breath-taking.
Models wore a black pob wig, which definitely looked spectacular on a lot of them, ahaha some should really consider the hairstyle.

Elie Saab Haute Couture fall/winter 2009

The Elie Saab show in Paris consisted of 46 ethereal white looks, with gathering and appliqués that made models look as if they were floating in a cumulus cloud. The different hues of white included ivory, seashell, cream, and magnolia.
The collection was exquisite, romantic, fresh and perfectly executed.
Jumpsuits, 2 piece suits, feathered jackets were all seen parading down the runway.
Mini-skirts were worn bare or with white leggings, gowns were seen in a huge variety, such as strapless, asymmetrical, sleeved, one-sleeved, cut-out at the back, bejeweled, feathered, beaded, paillettes, embellished with rosettes, and tulle.
The bold shoulder trend that was very much present in the fall/winter 2009 collections is definitely still in play during this Couture season, Saab showed us padded, feathered, embellished and large shoulders on vast pieces.
The models looked very fresh faced, with clean make-up and a strip of pale blue in the middle of their faces.

Givenchy Haute Couture fall/winter 2009

Riccardo Tisci took us very far from Paris for Givenchy this Couture season. Giving us a Middle Eastern influence mixed with a Northern Africa references.
Velvet coats and jackets, glittering harem pants, low-crotch trousers, spike-heeled shoe-boots, a high-necked pailetted gown, and chiffon hoods were seen throughout the show.
The silhouette was definitely worthy of a seductress.
I love how vampyric the whole collection is, the elegance, the aristocracy.
The velvet jacket with intricate details worn over a black flowing chiffon dress and the spike headpieces were out of this world!
Golden jewelery was seen hanging from necks, jackets and not to mention two models paraded down
the runway with even golden embellished details on their face.

Christian Dior Haute Couture fall/winter 2009

For this Haute Couture fall 2009 season, we got taken back to the art of dressing down, or in John Galliano’s case for Christian Dior, the art of undressing as he proposed skirts that are so short, that the garter belt is showing
(or is the skirt actually a garter belt?).
This is because the designer took reference from behind-the-scenes documentary photographs taken more than half a century ago as Monsieur Dior dressed his cabine of mannequins for shows. In the 1950's this is how the clothes were traditionally presented to clients and the press.
Layers and layers of chiffon, skirts worn with bras, jackets with girdles, lacy French underwear, and ball gowns with longline corsets were all seen parading on the runway.
The collection was spectacular, impeccably executed.
Jackets were seen with jewel-encrusted sleeves, and belted.
Nude hues were heavily seen as well, on a number of things such as dresses, skirts, knickers, and shoes.
The hats were divine! The models as well were a sight to behold, the make-up looked out of this world!

Last year, David signed a 20 million pound deal to become the Emporio Armani Underwear's new global ambassador,while his wife later clinched her own 12 million pound deal to represent the women's line for the house.
David & Victoria Beckham's fall/winter 2009 solo campaigns shots have been released earlier last month,
And recently the new shots of the fall ad have been exposed, featuring both of them as a couple shot by duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
Just like their previous S/S 09 campaigns for the house, which first featured them alone then them as a couple.
Victoria is still sporting her braided high pony tail in one photo while in the other she's has a geisha-esque knot hairstyle.
The shots without a doubt are sexy, eery and definitely provocative.
Victoria's glare, would put Cleopatra to shame!
And David is looking sensual and seducing, ahaha
which has been continuous ever since his first shots were released for the house.

Givenchy Resort 2010

Riccardo Tisci really makes you fall deeply in love with Givenchy more and more each season, doesn't he?
His pre-spring collection was simply to die for.
Using elements that he's known for like the ethereal hard goth references and melding that with exotic North African culture.
The collection featured spectacular draping on minidresses, a few gold sequin numbers, impeccable tailoring, a floral dress along with a floral pant-suit combination, drop crotch Moroccan pants, and a few skinnies as well. A dash of color was introduced with a lime shirt worn with baggy shorts, followed by a draped top worn together with a skirt. The pieces worn with the studded jackets were to die for, along with the gold coin necklaces worn with golden bangles and a black dress.

The editorial is quite different from the cover, much edgier, and much darker.

Balenciaga Resort 2010

Nicolas Ghesquiere evoked his usual innovative visions of design at Balenciaga for this resort collection. Using voluminous silhouettes and couture fabrics, Ghesquiere reportedly paid homage to the label's founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga. Structured pants varied in degrees of slouchiness, but always skinny at the ankle, and regarding jackets, the more fitted the better. Blouses in plaids, stripes, and polka dots were either dramatically ruffled at the collar, balloon-sleeved, or tied in a bow at the waist; a perfect compliment to those lean pantsuits and open-toe booties. Designers usually create safer collections for resort that are sure to sell like wildfire for Resort, but as always, Ghesquière being the daredevil that he is, loves pushing the boundaries.

Christian Dior Resort 2010

For the Christian Dior cruise collection, Galliano drew reference from Mitzah Bricard. Who was the Dior's muse in the fifties. The collection had an array of lilac pieces and leopard print, which were a favorite of Bricard. The collection featured knee-length coats with pencil skirts, and houndstooth skirtsuits. Towards the end, were shown some lovely ethereal evening gowns. Seen in lilac, a pale gray and a combination of both black and leopard. Although this collection is the epitome of high class and sophistication, It has little to do with what's expected of a resort collection and way too much of what's expected by Galliano. YES, he does an amazing job, but his visions and creations have become pretty repetitive. It feels like we've all seen this before. Even the hair and make-up seem so deja-vu.

Gucci Resort 2010

I always love Frida Giannini's work for Gucci, and for this resort I wouldn't expect any other feeling other then L-O-V-E. She does everything so well, either winter, spring, summer or fall, she's just a spectacular designer. The Gucci girl is like always very modern and very chic. The collection delivers a wearable wardrobe that's still very up to date and sophisticated. I loved the combo of shorts paired with a soft leather coat or blazer. Also seen in the collection were white skinny pants, tailored beach dresses, daring bathing suits and gorgeous platform heels. Definitly time to book your summer vacation and travel with high style!

Louis Vuitton Resort 2010

We can see that Marc Jacobs extracted influences from his French coquettes influences seen on the Louis Vuitton fall runway and produced his Resort 2010 collection for the house. But summered things up a notch. The collection features khaki safari jackets worn with both trousers or shorts, cocktail dresses worn with tuxedo jackets, the violet three quarter sleeved jacket paired with the black mini was to die for! The shoes were exquisite, seen in open-toe platform slouch high heeled boots or pumps. I'm just not too crazy about the bags which were seen in denim with traditional LV print in golden.

Yves Saint Laurent showed its 2010 resort collection fashion's best in New York City. Stefano Pilati, creative director for YSL, who was inspired by the heritage of the house’s late founder, brought back a lot more color, voluminous sleeves and even cropped ankle length pants. Said to be inspiried by seashells, rich hues and prints were worked in voluptuous shapes and volumes. The collection was light, free, and most of all refreshing. The jewelery was bold, seen in semi-precious stones and seashells.

Emma Watson AKA Hermione Granger will be the face of Burberry's fall/winter 200 9 Ad Campaign, photographed by Mario Testino. WOW, I confess I am in a bit of shock, she's upstaging top models like Lily Donaldson who is featured in this season's S/S 09 campaigns for the house.
This is quite an accomplishment. The shooting for the campaign took place at Burberry’s new headquarters in London and will break out in magazines in August. Early next month, the full ad will be featured in Burberry's official website and will also come along with an interactive digital campaign directed by Bailey that includes podcasts and behind-the-scenes footage.

“I wanted the images to represent both the rich history and the modernity of the Burberry brand, while at the same time reflecting a quiet beauty, timelessness and strength that is particularly significant today,”
said Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey.

Christopher Bailey continues to sustain my love affair for all things Burberry. This collection, the designer continues to stay true to his modern vision of the house. Showing clean lines and chic modern proportions, the resort collection features slim pleated trousers, light-weight outerwear, trenches with ribbon appliqués, and draped dresses. Shoes were high with a platform and chunky heel, worn with thin socks. The color pallet was heavenly, showing soothing hues of cream, grays, charcoal, and navey.

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright at Rag&Bone stuck to their essential tailoring, boyish fits, layering and relaxed coolness for this Resort collection. YES: it was cool, stylish and attractive. But it feels like we've seen this before, Neville and Wainwright definitely played it safe for this collection and went with what simply works. And it also doesn't feel like a Resort collection at all.
Nonetheless, the stylish was fantastic, the layering impeccable.

Marc Jacobs for Resort 2010, presents yet another whimsical collection, vibrating with color, elaborate embellishments and embroidery, sequined flowers, wrap dresses, pajama pants, motorcycle jackets, prom dresses, nautical stripes and prom dresses. It's something you'd wear with style on a lovely tropical island vacation. Kate Moss' lamé one-shoulder toga dress at The Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum a few weeks ago was actually from this very collection. The accessories were to die for, bejeweled bags and clutches, dangerously high wooden platform T-straps and sandals, some with floral appliqués.

Alexander Wang Resort 2010

Alexander Wang's resort 2010 collection was definitely refreshing.
He's obviously moving forward and straying a bit away from his aggressive edginess that we've been seeing in his recent collections. Instead, for this collection he's referencing Classic American Sportswear - preppy done the Wang way. The collection featured high waisted skirts, draped dresses, tulip hems , jersey cocktail dresses, nautical stripes and a dash of sequins.
All kept oh so modern, yet extremely effortless! The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner is definitely in a league of his own, such an accomplishment for the young designer!

Calvin Klein Resort 2010

The collection was soft, weightless, and fresh with a touch of romance.
The execution for this Calvin Klein collection was amazing: skilled craftsmanship, an airy color pallet of light sand, cream, and milky gold tones combined with intelligent layering, embroidered highlights and asymmetrical prowess, the collection was all about the body. And the way the clothes should convey a mood of relaxation, to a point where heels weren't even presented, models wore leather oxfords in variations of pale beige, gold, and black.

Givenchy Fall/Winter 2009 Ad Campaign

The fall/winter Givenchy ad campaign has been released recently, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Which is quite a surprise, due to the Givenchy campaigns being shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. And have been for the past 9 seasons. The photography is exquisite - and not black and white as expected from recent Givenchy ads. The casting includes a few models already familiar with the house's print campaigns, like Mariacarla Boscono and Simon Nessmann. Surprisingly, Adriana Lima was seen walking for the brand's last runway presentation and is also in this campaign, both were quite a shocker to me. And my, she looks amazing! Who would of thought that model in the white dress is actually even her? This is such a change from her usual self in those Victoria's Secret - circus - fashion Shows. The adverts will hit magazines starting July 2009.

Karl Lagarfeld presented his Chanel Cruise 2010 Collection at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Lido Resort in Romantic Venice…at sunset. He actually made all the guests wait for two hours until sunset set and the show started. The collection was inspired by Coco Chanel's visits to Venice, where she promoted her beach pajamas. The collection featured nautical stipes, fun beach wear, lovely knit cardigans, boucle jackets with fringed edges, glass embroidery, sequins and lush hues of reds. I loved the red and white striped wedge boots!

The model's bob-style hairdo, and makeup reminded me of the thirtie's silent filmes, the mood of this collection was amazing. Free, light, yet still made a very bold statement. This is definitly how one should look on a summer holiday vacation!

Chanel's Paris - Moscow Pre-Fall ready-to-wear collection was designed by Chanels' couture ateliers. With a goal to show off the skills of the French embroiderers, goldsmiths,shoemakers, and milliners the house supports. Sasha Pivovarova is the face of the ad campaign, photographed by the designer himself, Karl Lagerfeld.

The collection being heavily inspired by imperial Russia and Russian folklore, included layers of chiffon, extravagant embellishments, sequins, and pearls. Heels were sculpted like upturned onion domes, and fur military hats were often seen. Badges, leather leggings along with glitter ones were also included in the collection. Models wore Byzantine empresses inspired head pieces which were simply lavishing and perfectly executed.

Victoria Beckham was in NYC this week, at Macy's Herald Square for the launching of her new advertisement for Emporio Armani's fall 2009 ad campaign. You may remember the three first shots of her already released earlier this year, which were heavenly, photographed by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. At the event Victoria met fans and posed in front of a new campaign, which was absolutely out of control breathtaking. Victoria looked amazing at the promotion of her £12 million three year deal, in a S/S 09 Emporio Armani blazer with sequined outer shoulder pads, bedazzled skin-tight pants, Armani heels, and debuting a new hair style. I love her hair this way, definitely gives her a younger vibe. Her make-up looks perfect, and her body is to die for.

The bold shouldered jacket is definitely a key item this season for who ever wants to instantly update their wardrobe. Blumarine Spring/Summer 2009 Ad Campaign

For the second season in a row, top model Natasha Poly will be the face for a Blumarine ad campaign. This spring campaign is Photographed by Craig McDean and styled by Joe McKenna. Although the campaign is beautiful, it is a bit peculiar. When you think Blumarine, you tend to picture femininity, flowers, and softness. Poly looks very aggressive in her posing and facial expressions, and the make-up accentuates that. She is a bit too harsh for the image the house is known for. Although it would of worked if her hair was down and the posing was kept softer. Blame the stylist I guess.

Supermodel Chanel Iman was photographed arriving at the Fall/Winter 2009 Jeremy Scott fashion show in Paris wearing her very own, fresh pair of fabulous Akiko Ogawa fall 09 boots. These boots obviously aren't even out yet, so I'm guessing they were a present from the designer, considering she opened the Akiko Ogawa show. These boots are simply to die for, when I first saw them I was in awe. Consisting of black leather, metal plated and belted, they definitely make a huge statement. But I must admit, they bear a striking resemblance to Stella McCartney's footwear for her fall/winter 2008 collection, which was also a big hit this fall.

Gucci's iconic Flora print has been lucky for Frida Giannini - in fact, since she brought it back, her work in the Italian brand has been really great. Now, as a tribute to this classic print, they're launching a fragrance called Flora.

The fragrance is feminine and classic, with floral notes and aimed at younger consumers. Sweeter then Gucci by Gucci, it's designed for today's young, modern and sensual women.
For Giannini, Flora is a day fragrance, and Gucci by Gucci for night-time.
A classic name for the brand to define a new stage in their history, as Flora seems set to be the first of a new group of young Gucci fragrances.
The first time we saw the Flora print was in 1966, when Princess Grace Kelly made it iconic.
The packaging is the black and white version of the Flora print, which is also used for the material worn by Australian model Abbey Lee in the ad campaign photographed by Inez & Vinoodh.

The collection's footwear has been released on the official website. And I must say, they look outstanding. Especially the lacquered studded sandals and the high leather boots with vulture feathers!

American Vogue May 2009: Faces of the Moment.

The highly-anticipated May 2009 cover of American Vogue featuring actual models is out! The total cast features nine models. The three girls taking the front cover are models Liya Kebede, Natalia Vadianova, and Anna Jagodzinska. It's quite a surprise for Anna to be featured in this casting, let alone be on the actual cover.

A pull-out can be found attached to the front page, that shows the other "Models of the Moment" in this special issue, which include Isabeli Fontana, Jourdan Dunn, Raquel Zimmermann, Lara Stone, Caroline Trentini and Natasha Poly.

It's so refreshing to see actual models on an American Vogue cover. I'm not too happy about this casting, and I DEFINITELY think that Natasha should of been put on the cover. She's doing editorials, booking campaigns left and right, not to mention in all the major shows. Poly is without a doubt the hardest working one there.

*Observation; Does anyone else find it bizarre that Lily Donaldson wasn't featured in this issue as well?

Karl Lagerfeld Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign

The Ad campaign, shot by the designer himself, features Danish top model Freja Bega Erichsen and American model, Brad Kroenig. The campaign is dark and has a hint of mystery, which is quite odd considering after all, it is a Spring campaign. The campaign also features Freja holding the very charming tote bag that resembles Karl Lagerfeld's face and his sunglasses play as the cutout handle.

Au Revoir, Olivier Theyskens

Olivier Theyskens, the artistic director of French fashion house Nina Ricci, officially debuted his last collection for the brand last month during Fall/Winter 2009 Paris fashion week. The 32 year old designer, born in Brussels, Belgium, was positioned as Nina Ricci's artistic director on November first of 2006, and debuted his first line in March of 2007 during the fall season. I was quite shocked that his contract with the house will not be resigned, I really loved Theyskens' work. He's a young designer but a criticlly acclaimed design prodigy to say the least. Anna Wintour personally gave him the CFDA's International Award in 2002 when he headed design at Rochas at just 25.He has done too much for for the house while still maintaining the aesthetic of Nina Ricci. Sort of like Nicholas does at Balenciaga. Peter Coppings, a senior designer at Louis Vuitton, will take Theyskens' place when his contract expires this October.

FALL/WINTER 2007 RTW

"Olivier Theyskens said he wanted "to introduce a new wave of cool—something urban and gray-ish, but nonchalant, fragile, and superlight" at Nina Ricci. Since he's only just exited the now-defunct Rochas, the collection he showed, though suffused with his signature poetics, felt more transitional than definitive. Like several other designers of his age, Theyskens is accurately intuiting the fact that fashion needs to address a younger, more casual level of dressing, but at the same time, pressure is on him to stay within the fuzzy parameters of the not-so-defined genre of Ricci femininity."

SPRING/SUMMER 2008 RTW

"It was a group of girls you'd see on the street in the early morning coming from a ball," explained Olivier Theyskens. His wispy raggle-taggle troupe was wending its way home in a particularly poetic state of dishevelment, of course. Their clothes were ombré-tinted in subtle grays and browns, as if smudged by the murky first light of a city day. The opening girl had pulled on her boyfriend's dusty tux, which had come apart at the back, over an artfully wilted twisted satin tunic. Others had draped sloppy, holey cardigans over the shredded remains of charmeuse and chiffon, trailing stringy feather boas as they walked. Some, possibly, were even down to their shirts or slips (you know how you start losing things on a long night out?), and one had wrapped a blanket—or maybe the dance-hall"

"Under Olivier Theyskens' guidance, Nina Ricci is going through a metamorphosis. The label was originally a frilly lady brand, but he is steering it toward a young, hip girl with an unshowy rockster personality. To get there, Theyskens took her hand today and led her through a long trail in the woods, dressing her in clothes tinted and textured with the vegetal yellowy-greeny-brownish colors of fallen leaves or hibernating moths. "Strange and poetic," he called it, "but not dark."

It's a world of his own, and to fully appreciate it, you need to know what's gone before in his work: his love of Edwardiana and tailcoats; the fluttery, flyaway cutting; the delicate prints and the dusty, organic woodland-floor palettes he likes."

"The show might have been his swan song at Nina Ricci but Olivier Theyskens saw it through with a fierce, surreal poetry no one who witnessed it will forget. Vastly tall, his strong-shouldered women were walking, trancelike, on what looked like an impossibility: a laced-up platform ankle boot with a sickle-shaped hole at the back. No heels at all. Their clothes—everything from strangely flowing pants to incredibly cut suits to probably the best black leather jacket in Paris and evening dresses with swooping, furling skirts—were a tour de force. Between the strange atmosphere, the supersharp, almost Mugler-esque jackets, and the sculpted forms, it rounded up everything fashion-watchers have known Theyskens is capable of, and went even further."

Balmain Spring/Summer 2009 Ad Campaign

Polish model Daria Werbowy is the face for Balmain's campaign this season photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. For a much anticipated campaign, it really wasn't breathtaking. To me it looks a lot like a postcard, from Arizona or something. I do love the outfit though. The Ad bares comparison to Isabel Marant's spring 2009 campaign, which in fact Daria stars in as well.

Featured in this month's issue of Chinese Vogue is in-demand model, Magdalena Frackowiak. The 24 year old was born in Poland and began appearing on international runways in 2006. The Anna Sui S/S 2009 ad campaign was gor-geous! Starring Asian model Du Juan, this is definitely one of the best ad campaigns this season! Sad thing is, it's not seen in any mainstream US publication, like Vogue, Elle, or Glamour for example. The campaign doesn't even show on Anna Sui's american website, only the Japanese one. Which is a shame because it really is a spectacular shot!

Anna Sui said herself in a recent interview with New York Times that the majority of her revenue comes from the Asia-Pacific region (particularly from sales of fragrances and cosmetics) like Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, where she is extremely popular.

YSL "Elle Shocking" Fragrance Ad Campaign

Balenciaga F/W 09 Shoe Detail shots

Ever since the debut of the Balenciaga F/W 09 collection, I have been dieing to get shots of different angles of the shoes, considering Balenciaga has always intricate, innovative footwear. And I had looked everywhere for shots and couldn't find any. But recently style.com added detail shots of the collection, and the shoes were finally seen in various angles other then just from the front.
The shoes came in either a bootie or sandal version. Varying in colors and different patterns that perfectly complimented the collection. The front platform of most of the shoes had an almost 'icy' like detail and at the top were knotted with a strip of suede.
