PFW: Antonio Berardi Fall/Winter 2009

Designer Antonio Berardi showed a dashing fall collection this week. He definitely flaunted a specialty for architectural design and construction. Starting off with the first dresses being covered in square-shaped sparkling crystal sequins, some wrapped in silk or tulle as well. Cropped Jackets and skirts were interestingly bejeweled and the glittery knits were divine, they were actually made with special crystal yarn, exciting isn't it? Which was possible with a collaboration with Swarovoski. But it wasn't all about glitter and shine at Berardi, there were as well jackets and coats which were greatly tailored with a bold shoulder, reminiscent of Balmain, lilac frocks, and tight body-con dresses. He also used plenty of furs, with also was made possible with another collaboration, with Saga Furs, patching lynx and fox onto knit. Quality has without a doubt increased at the house.
