Hannah Macgibbon took Chloé back to it's classic roots for fall 2009 picking up where Phoebe Philo left off. Chloe has had a rocky journey ever since Philo left, and this season is Hannah's second collection for the house. And her first wasn't very enlightening. But I'm glad I didn't have to repeat myself for her collection this season, for it was spectacular.
Macgibbon took away some of the very girly spring elements, and applied a more boyish approach to the collection. It was still very feminine, but also very strong.
The show started with huge blanket capes over baggy trousers, some with high waisted shorts cinched with a thin belt, which I thought was to die for! Also seen was an officer's jacket with a buttoned shirt tucked in green pants, and very feminine shirtdresses. Relaxed separates were paired with frilled blouses.
Emphasizing the casual, loose fitting fabrics and the soft pleats was a calm colour palette with neutral tones and muted khaki.Accessories included a tiny box clutch bags, oversized handbags, lace up ankle shoots and over the knee pirate boots.
