PFW: Lanvin Fall/Winter 2009

Alber Elbaz always nails the it with a huge hammer! And this fall at Lanvin was no different. The designer showed a spectacular collection, one that the modern women will most definitely feel strong, confident and go about her business in these tough times. The collection featured simple silhouettes, knots and dramatic draping, which is the result of cutting primarily on the bias. Down the side of a dress fell a ruffles asymmetric cascade, peplums took space in the front of suits. Furs were seen as stoles and as coats, glitter was seen streaked on fabrics, linear embroideries in metals and a dark floral print was seen on a number of looks.
The footwear was to die for, it was a platform pointy toed heel that came in vast styles, such as a pump, bootie, and even thigh-high version. The Jewelery was quite reminding of Lanvin's last fall collection, but they were out of this world. Seen in elaborate styles, they consisting of oversized crystals, ivory spheres, and dark stones.
